In partnership with AWS and Geovation, we were delighted to launch our Data in Motion Hack Week, with two launch sessions taking place on Friday 23 September. The launch set the scene for the challenge “Managing the Capacity of London’s Transport Network,” and we can’t wait to see the amazing solutions that are created to support this challenge and help improve the experience of those travelling in London. There are some great prizes on offer for the winners who will be announced at the end of this week.
Judging the Hack Week Solutions
Here is the format for the judging event, which takes place at the end of the Hack Week on Friday 30 September (we don’t necessarily need a prototype of your solution – it’s the idea we’re looking for at this stage):
|Start time||End time||Topic||Who|
|13:00||14:00||Prize announcements & wrap event||Panel|
The Hack Week will conclude with a closed presentation to a panel of judges. The panel will be made up of the following people:
|Company / Organisation and Area||Name|
|TfL – Online Team||Rikesh Shah|
|TfL – Online Team||Gordon Watson|
|TfL – Travel Demand Management||Lucy Fish|
|TfL – Roads||Jonathan Turner|
|Kings College – Air Quality||Andrew Grieve|
|Amazon Web Services||Kris Burtwistle|
If you would like to present your idea back to our panel of judges and put yourself in with a chance of winning one of our prizes, or if you would just like to showcase your solutions, please use the ‘Register Now’ button on this web page and select from the available slots to book yourself in.
Should you have more than one idea, please feel free to sign up to another slot (max 3 sessions per team).
Please note – you don’t have to have attended the launch event last Friday or the surgeries this week in order to enter your solution to the judging panel on Friday 30 September. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org who will be able to send you the presentation deck from the launch, as well as instructions on accessing all of the datasets available for this challenge.
